Welcome to Critical Rationalism tribe.
I guess some people have come here from Critical Cafe. It wasn't my intention to try to steal people away from there. If you found this via Tribe, you may also be interested to join that email based discussion : www.eeng.dcu.ie/~tkpw/cafe...e-info.html
I'm hoping this tribe complements CC in some form. (Though undoubtedly there'll be some fierce argument here too :-)

Re: welcome
10/25Hello Phil:
I learned about this group from your post in the Critical_Cafe. I am also a memeber of the CrticialRationalism group. I am getting my dose of critical rationalism!
I hope that constructive developments of critical rationalism can occur here. I am somewhat disappointed at the detours that the Critical_Cafe takes sometimes.
My two reading interests lately are evolutionary epistemology and experimental research on perception. I have to say that I learned more interesting things reading about research on perception than from analytic philosophy 1900-1950. I have recently read Donald Campbell's paper in the Schlipp volume. Donald Campbell seems to be a "forgotton" critical rationalist.
Sincerely,
Ron Dwyer

Re: welcome
10/27I knew a little about Popper before, but I was really drawn into CR via reading Campbell.
I think I was looking at his stuff on "downward causation" originally.
